　　4. man在表示人類(lèi)意思的時(shí)候,前面不加冠詞,Labour creates man himself.

　　5. 漁民是fisherman,不是fishman,銷(xiāo)售員是salesman不是saleman,同樣的運(yùn)動(dòng)員是sportsman

　　6. a great/good many后面的謂語(yǔ)要用復(fù)數(shù)

　　mang a后面的謂語(yǔ)要用單數(shù)

　　A great many scientists have sacrificed their lives for science.

　　Many a scientist has sacrificed his life for science.

　　雖然上述用法看起來(lái)比較變態(tài),主要是收到前面冠詞a和many的影響,如果實(shí)在不能理解,可以這樣記many后面都加復(fù)數(shù),隨后的謂語(yǔ)跟many后面的復(fù)指,a后面加

　　單數(shù),謂語(yǔ)用單數(shù)第三人稱(chēng),所以這兩個(gè)短語(yǔ)的謂語(yǔ)都采用就近原則.

　　同時(shí),平時(shí)我們很少看到這類(lèi)用法,所以完全可以用many,lots of就好啦嘛,又方便還不會(huì)錯(cuò).

　　7. no more than 有兩個(gè)意思,平時(shí)看到最多的應(yīng)該是僅僅,只不過(guò)比如

　　His whole school education added up to no more than one year.

　　He is no more than a puppet.

　　但是如果no more than拆開(kāi)用,變成no morethan意思就不大一樣了,相當(dāng)于 neithernor的意思

　　Jack is no more diligent than John.杰克和約翰誰(shuí)都不勤奮.

　　not more than如果連用也是表示至多,不超過(guò)的意思

　　Not more than 1,000 people attended the lecture.

　　但是要是拆開(kāi)用變成not morethan的形式,就表示不如,前者不如后者的意思

　　比如例句:

　　It is not more a river than a stream.

　　如果直譯應(yīng)該是---把它當(dāng)作河把它當(dāng)作小溪----它還不如比作小溪恰當(dāng)呢!

　　9. in the least: 一點(diǎn)點(diǎn),絲毫 Are you in the least interested in sewing?

　　Marked和remarkable在表示意思顯著的時(shí),可以通用,但是remarkable因?yàn)槭莂ble結(jié)尾還有值得注意的這個(gè)意思

　　12. Masse的復(fù)數(shù)masses表示群眾,民眾,另有兩個(gè)短語(yǔ) a mass of /masses of形式和lot類(lèi)似.
