專四考試常見詞辨析：醫(yī)生也分“內(nèi)外”

　　doctor, physician, surgeon, dentist

　　這些名詞都有醫(yī)生之意。

　　doctor :普通用詞，泛指各科醫(yī)生，即一切有行醫(yī)資格的人。

　　He would not dream of becoming a doctor.（他做夢(mèng)也沒想到要當(dāng)大夫。）

　　physician :指醫(yī)院的內(nèi)科醫(yī)生。

　　In case of diabetes, physicians advise against the use of sugar.（對(duì)于糖尿病患者, 醫(yī)生告誡他們不要吃糖。）

　　surgeon :指專修外科或?qū)Ｐ奕梭w某個(gè)部分的外科專科醫(yī)生，這種醫(yī)生一般需對(duì)患者進(jìn)行手術(shù)治療。

　　The surgeon is now operating.（外科醫(yī)生正在做手術(shù)。）

　　dentist :指專門從事治牙的醫(yī)生。

　　I have got toothache, so I must go to a dentist.（我牙疼, 必須去看牙醫(yī)。）
