In the past decade, there has been an alarming increase in the number of teenage smokers in China.

There are a number of reasons for this. First of all, some would attribute this to the increase in economic stability. With more money to spend, teenagers are finding themselves with more freedom. Thirdly, because teenagers today are all a result of the one-child policy, more parents are becoming lax on disciplining their children，as they will depend on them in the future.
這一現(xiàn)象出現(xiàn)有很多原因。首先，有些人把這歸咎于中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)的穩(wěn)定增長(zhǎng)。手里有了更多的錢，青少年擁有了更多的自由。其次，青少年深受很多西方電影的影響，認(rèn)為吸煙代表成熟，是一件很酷的事情。再次，因?yàn)楝F(xiàn)在的青少年多為獨(dú)生子女政策的產(chǎn)物，很多家長(zhǎng)在教育孩子方面非常縱容，因?yàn)樗麄儗?lái)要依靠孩子。
To curb this problem, I believe that cigarettes should not be sold to anyone under 18 years old. Furthermore, the government should ban smoking on television and in the media.
