People say that the British always talk about the weather.人們常說英國人愛談論天氣。
Thatrsquo;s because the weather is so changeable in the UK.那是因為英倫三島的氣候變化無常。
At greetings, they will often comment on the state of the weather.見面時，他們常常要說說天氣的狀況。
For example, they may say ldquo;Hello, lovely day todayrdquo; when they meet.比方說，見面時他們會相互打招呼說：ldquo;你好，今天天氣真好。rdquo;

ldquo;A peasouperrdquo; is very thick fog; it is used because pea soup is also very thick.ldquo;豆湯rdquo;指的是很濃的霧，之所以這么用是因為豆制的湯也很濃。

So we say ldquo;cold enough to freeze the balls of a brass monkeyrdquo;.于是我們說：ldquo;冷得要把銅猴上的球凍壞了。rdquo;
