　　The well-being of a society is enhanced when many of its people question authority.

　　【Position】:盡管質疑權威有時候會引起社會不安定，適當?shù)馁|疑有利于社會健康發(fā)展。

　　a) 科學上，對權威的質疑有利于新理論，新發(fā)現(xiàn)的產(chǎn)生哥白尼，日心說。魏格納質疑原有理論提出板塊漂移。

　　b) 在社會領域，適度的質疑揭露社會問題并且讓人們團結起來去改變現(xiàn)狀從而使社會進步。比如質疑men dominance的women right運動，推動了Equal Pay Act,19th憲法修正案保護婦女right to vote,等婦女權利保護的立法，提高了婦女地位，是社會的進步。

　　c) 惡意的，非法的質疑會擾亂社會秩序，騷亂，恐怖主義

　　d) 公眾的質疑有利于社會的進步，但這種質疑不能超越法律的界限。

　　 It is often necessary, even desirable, for political leaders to withhold information from the public.

　　a) It is always impossible for the political leaders to reveal everything to the public, especially some the information which can affect the national security. Different nations are competing and even antagonistic. Revealing some information could has no help for the solution but poses negative impact on the stability of a country. Unidentified illness

　　b) Withholding information should not be the excuse for political leaders to abuse their power. Withholding information at their will could provide the chance of corruption,

　　c) 在不威脅國家安全，社會穩(wěn)定情況下，政府行為應該盡可能透明，接受監(jiān)督。

　　It is impossible for an effective political leader to tell the truth all the time. Complete honesty is not a useful virtue for a politician.

　　1. 誠實坦白對每個人來說都是美德。對于政治家，能夠樹立良好的公眾形象，贏得公民的贊賞和支持。例如Lincoln家里很貧寒，他在競選的時候絲毫沒有掩飾自己的貧窮，贏得了下層階級people from low class的支持;

　　2. 為了保證國家的利益和安全，也應當說謊。如：使民眾安心。不能complete forthright

　　3. 但就長遠來說，A 正直的人品才能真正獲得民眾的支持和信任如：Gandhi, Martin Luther King B政治家們過分的欺騙民眾會導致人民不相信政府并導致不滿，并最終導致災難性的后果。
